General Overview

Our objectives were to ensure that young people from rural areas are well-informed and better equipped to advocate for their needs, contribute positively to their communities, and pursue opportunities that align with their aspirations and talents. Access to accurate, relevant, and timely information allows youth to navigate challenges related to education, employment, health, and social relationships. By providing a solid foundation of knowledge, we implemented a mobile info tour with youth information through rural areas to provide on-the-spot information about youth opportunities and help bridge gaps in understanding, fostering independence, critical thinking, and active citizenship.

By incorporating an oldtimer as an attractive info mobile stand for youth informing, we combined methods of storytelling, visuals, and hands-on activities to ensure the information is not only informative but also inspiring and relevant to their lives and needs. By bringing on-the-spot information and providing access to opportunities for rural youth, we aimed to ensure that these opportunities benefit them personally and professionally. Our target audience was youth aged 15-30, including those with fewer opportunities, from rural places in the Istria region, Croatia – villages such as Salakovci, Bartići, Gora Glušići, and Tunarica. The visibility of the Eurodesk network was ensured through media announcements and the use of the Eurodesk logo on promotional materials, visuals, and videos for social networks. Our oldtimer Fiat 126 also carried a large Eurodesk sign to ensure maximum visibility.

Thematic Category Correspondence

(50 points max)

How does this initiative (project, event, material) correspond to the thematic category

The info mobile tour was a daily event that visited small rural places in the Istria region, with an oldtimer Fiat 126 engaging young people with on-the-spot information in a way that was both educational and entertaining, catering to their interests and learning styles. Our mission was to create and offer an exciting concept to the youth that embodies the dynamic exchange of information, ideas, and knowledge through an innovative and inclusive approach. In a world where information is abundant yet often overwhelming, we wanted to offer a unique and immediate way to inform them about their opportunities.

Impact

(30 points max)

How did your project impact young people / your community?

By fostering an environment that values creativity, collaboration, and on-the-spot information in rural areas, our approach impacts young people by allowing them to discover a wide range of opportunities to engage in and participate, thus aiming to develop their skills. We supported the development of informed, responsible, and proactive individuals.

Green Focus

(10 points max)

Did your project have any green focus and/or did you implement any eco-friendly measures when organising it?

Our activity with the info mobile tour and youth information services aimed to provide young people with reliable, comprehensive, up-to-date, and youth-friendly information. It was important for us that local young people were involved in these processes, as this would instil in them a sense of ownership and commitment, enabling them to become more aware of how they can impact the environment with their actions. Through our sustainable mindset and approach, and by implementing this activity in nature, we placed significant importance on informing youth about eco-friendly projects, the importance of using eco-friendly means of transport, and we used eco-friendly leaflets and materials in the process.
