End date:

Source of funding:

Eurodesk grant

Objectives:

The main goal of the event was to travel to different European countries through stories of experiences. To introduce young people aged 13-25 about the possibilities of European Union projects. At the event, we listened to the stories of young people's experiences and asked questions. We played a game about European countries, cultures and flags. Young people took the opportunity to talk face to face with the authors of the stories. Hearing the stories, the participants were inspired to try one of the iprogram opportunities offered by the EU, and to develop themselves.

Why does it correspond to the thematic category:

The main idea of the event was to compare European options with pizza. A Slice of Europe was the story of each participant's experience of what they experienced in European Solidarity Corps volunteer work, a youth exchange trip or the DiscoveEU program. Each of us who heard this story seemed to bite into this story of experience and enjoyed it ourselves. Of course, pizza was an important part of the event.

The impact the initiative had on young people and the local community:

When meeting their peers, young people were encouraged that European project opportunities are available to every young person. Young people had a lot of questions and interest about the possibilities, about the information that the Eurodesk point can provide.A greater connection was made to the fact that we are in Europe and how these opportunities can be used, as there is still a perception that young people from bigger countries have more opportunities. One of the young people who shared his story later got involved in Europeers training because he realized that he wanted to share his experience and the growth he experienced through the projects and this event.

How it ensured the visibility and promotion of Eurodesk:

During the event, we talked about the Eurodesk network, how to find out about the possibilities. Also on social networks before and after the event, we talked widely about Eurodesk and its possibilities.

How it respected the green principles:

The event took place in the youth center, which is open to all young people. Getting to the center is easy using public transport. The DiscoverEU initiative was promoted, where the girl told how she changed her thinking about environmental factors in travel.
