What is it about?

The event “Time to Move Suceava: Your Opportunities” was designed as a dual-structured meeting: the first part focused on informing participants about European opportunities dedicated to young people, while the second part centred on personal reflection and guidance through dream management exercises. The preparation of the event included the creation and online distribution of promotional materials as part of the Time to Move campaign, as well as contacting local partners to ensure the participation of interested young people.

In the first part, we presented the Eurodesk network, the Erasmus+ programme, and concrete opportunities through which participants can explore, study, or volunteer in Europe. The discussions were interactive, based on real-life examples and questions adapted to the participants’ needs.

The second part was dedicated to a dream management session—an exercise that helped participants outline their personal and professional directions, reflect on what motivates them, and identify concrete steps they can take to achieve their goals. The activity was emotionally intense; some participants jokingly said it “came with a stomach ache,” a sign that the exercise opened deep reflections about dreams, limits, and self-confidence.

We used visual materials and worksheets for the practical component. From a technical perspective, everything worked well and we were able to use projection equipment. Participants received Eurodesk keyrings, and a raffle was organised with Eurodesk backpacks as prizes. The group’s energy and the participants’ openness turned the event into a memorable and authentic experience, especially because it was an open event that brought together people with diverse backgrounds and personalities.

How is this project relevant to the specific category?

This initiative corresponds to the Creative Youth Information thematic category by going beyond the simple transmission of information and focusing on how young people creatively process, internalise, and use that information to shape their own life paths.

From our perspective, young people have a strong need for guidance in navigating their personal and professional journeys, especially in contexts where access to mentoring, career orientation, or non-formal education is limited. We therefore considered that it was not sufficient to merely present European opportunities and programmes. Instead, we designed the initiative to combine youth information with creative, reflective tools that help young people connect opportunities to their own aspirations.

Alongside the informational component about Eurodesk, Erasmus+, and European mobility programmes, we organised a guided dream management session. This creative and introspective exercise encouraged participants to reflect on their motivations, values, and long-term goals, and to imagine possible futures for themselves. Through guided questions, visual materials, and structured reflection, young people were supported in translating abstract opportunities into personal action pathways.

This approach empowered participants to actively engage with information rather than passively receive it. By creating a safe space for imagination, self-expression, and dialogue, the initiative helped young people develop clarity, confidence, and a sense of ownership over their choices. The creative dimension of the project lay in its methodology: using reflection, storytelling, and guided exercises to turn youth information into a meaningful and transformative experience.

In this way, the initiative supported young people not only in discovering opportunities, but also in creatively envisioning how those opportunities could become part of their own life stories.

What was the impact of the project?

The project had a meaningful impact on both young people and the wider community by creating an open, inclusive learning space accessible to both high school pupils and university students. As an open-access event, it brought together a diverse group of participants who did not previously know each other and came from different educational backgrounds, ages, and experiences. This diversity enriched the discussions and fostered peer learning, dialogue, and a sense of shared belonging.

Throughout the event, participants actively engaged in both the informational and reflective activities. Beyond learning about European opportunities, they gained practical tools to support their personal and professional development. The guided dream management session, in particular, equipped them with concrete methods for self-reflection, goal-setting, and career planning—skills that are often missing from formal education.

Many participants expressed that the event helped them better understand their own aspirations and feel more confident in making decisions about their future. By linking information about mobility programmes and youth opportunities to personal reflection, the project enabled young people to see clearer pathways from where they are now to where they want to be.

At a community level, the event strengthened connections between students and pupils who might not otherwise have interacted, contributing to a more cohesive and supportive local youth network. It also demonstrated the value of non-formal education as a tool for empowerment, inclusion, and long-term personal growth.

Overall, the project left participants with increased motivation, greater self-awareness, and concrete instruments they can use to actively work on their careers and life choices, reinforcing the idea that opportunities become meaningful when young people are supported in understanding how to use them.

Did the project have any green focus?

While the main focus of the project was educational, we consciously implemented eco-friendly measures during its organisation. We prioritised the reuse of existing working materials such as pens, markers, and pencils that were already available from previous projects, instead of purchasing new items. By doing so, we avoided producing unnecessary waste and reduced the environmental footprint of the event.

This approach reflected a responsible use of resources and offered a practical example of sustainability through everyday actions. By choosing not to create new materials when suitable ones were already available, the project promoted a mindset of reuse and conscious consumption among participants. Even small decisions, such as reusing stationery, can contribute to more sustainable event practices and encourage young people to think critically about environmental responsibility in their own activities.

How did you ensure Eurodesk's visibility in your project?

Eurodesk’s visibility was ensured throughout the project through multiple integrated elements. We used a digital presentation that prominently featured Eurodesk branding and clearly introduced the network and its mission. Time to Move working materials were used during the activities, reinforcing Eurodesk’s visual identity and messages. In addition, participants received Time to Move and Eurodesk stickers, which helped extend the visibility of the initiative beyond the event itself. Together, these elements ensured consistent and recognisable Eurodesk presence during both the informational and interactive components of the project.
