Youth Cooperation is the Association for Successful Communities in Cegléd
Country:
Hungary
About organisation:
„In our organization there are many members who have brought their mentality, experience and worldview, what they always shared with the actual circle, the community - who participated in a lot's of conferences and trainings - made connections all over the country which help these people to got the right informations about the opportunities in a wide range. Preparing is one of our keytool to help, because during these events the youth can improve their competencies (for example assertive communication, etc.), social engagement, human values, how to write an application what they can use under their jobs. For us the most major thing is the mental support: we always stand behind them and give some advice how to do their best or we show them the real power of the community, where they can always be themselves. As a member of the main youth system of the country and an Eurodesk partner as well we can inform the youth about international mobility occasions as well.”
Title of the project
VI. Youth Forum in Cegléd
Start date:
25/10/2022
End date:
25/10/2022
Objectives:
In the heart of the city of Cegléd, under the Time to Move project was held the VI. Youth Forum. The purpose of the day was - in addition to the social role of young people - to connect Eurodesk employees actively in the country, to present and transfer mobilities and the experiences derived from them, thereby sensitising the youth to international opportunities. The 110 young people and 31 youth professionals were able to process the morning's experience reports and information in a Live Library, where the speakers were "borrowed" and 5 minutes each were available to meet and answer questions. In the afternoon block, the national teams created in advance with the patronage of foreign volunteers were able to take part in a treasure hunt: after creating a common identity/logo, they did tasks at different locations, and at the same time, the youth professionals were informed about the public education opportunities of Erasmus+ through the national Eurodesk coordination.
Why the project was: empowering young people, adapting to changing realities, or thinking out of the box:
The implementation of the project was realised due to the needs of the youth after the pandemic and the need to get out of their comfort zone. The students recruited from the educational institutions of the settlement represented a potential layer of young people participating in international mobility, during the event there were also students who, due to their age, could not necessarily participate in foreign projects. The event can be said to fill a gap, since the Eurodesk network was still unknown to the applicants and had not yet moved so many people, and in terms of involving the target group, it allowed us to try out methods that were also instructive for us. We considered it important that the presentations of the regional partners and the information given to the questions give the students a solid theoretical knowledge, which on the one hand encourages them to try international opportunities and makes them unquestionable on a theoretical level. In addition to these, the soft skills practised through international communication during the tasks play a key role in addressing the target audience and starting communication, and by experiencing and mastering the methods of experiential pedagogy, they can not only make the sharing of the necessary information and experiences more efficient and acceptable, but also contribute to the international to expand the Eurodesk community.
How the project was inclusive:
The purpose and implementation of the event took place in the spirit of the European thematic year of youth. The poster basically refers to travelling and trying out opportunities abroad. Another determining factor is the national coordination and the presence of around 8 partners (Central, Southern and Northern), the illustrative material they bring (promotional items, handouts, rollup, molino) and the listing and emphasis of the online interfaces and Eurodesk contacts (promo video, Opportunity Finder, Mobility map, Time to Move website, European Youth Portal). The presence of foreign volunteers, who demonstrated European diversity in their language, culture and appearance, is also a not to be neglected aspect.
Green aspect:
From the project's point of view, public transport was a determining factor, as Cegléd was easily accessible for both partners and attendees due to its central character in the railway network. During the Forum, instead of the traditional, paper-based implementation, the use of digital tools was authoritative, and in order to reduce the former application to a minimum level, the participants worked in teams. We also put a lot of emphasis on the possibility of selective waste collection, during the lunch we used paper plates and re-cups instead of plastic eating utensils, awareness of this was already given to the attendees at the beginning of the event.
How the project has given a European dimension to your event and ensured the visibility and promotion of Eurodesk?

Impact:
As a result, community building, more confidential communication between young people, and the fact that they dare to address each other more courageously by completing playful tasks, thus not only creating a closer youth social sphere, but also formulating a demand for regular meetings like this. By introducing the actors of the network, the participants were able to gain an insight into the life of several youth organisations, so they are aware of who they can turn to for help in different arenas of the country. With the presence of foreign volunteers, intercultural learning was also a big part of the day. By learning soft skills, they could not only show their creativity, but also express themselves, and also get to know customs and cultures that could further broaden their world view. The program provided an opportunity for the teachers accompanying the students (and youth professionals) to participate actively, they also received information about Erasmus+ opportunities in a separate workshop. From the point of view of the local community, it is decisive that the majority of students and teachers belonging to different social stratums and schools are also interested in the field of interest representation, thus conveying information, contacts, promotional materials and the experience at their own meetings.
