What is it about?

“Europe Frequency for Youth” is a podcast-based information and participation initiative developed by the Aydın Governorship Foreign Relations Office – Eurodesk Contact Point to increase young people’s access to European opportunities and strengthen their motivation to engage in international mobility, volunteering, and project-based activities. The programme primarily targets young people aged 18–30, while remaining open to all citizens interested in European programmes.

The podcast provides regular episodes explaining how young people can access Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps, traineeships, and youth projects, as well as how they can develop project ideas and become active participants in international networks. Special emphasis is placed on introducing the Eurodesk service in Aydın, presenting the volunteer team, and explaining how young people can reach and benefit from Eurodesk activities at a local level.

A key innovative aspect of the project is its strong focus on accessibility and inclusion. The audio-based format makes information easily accessible for visually impaired individuals and for young people who face barriers in accessing written content. By offering clear, simple, and engaging audio content, the project ensures that European opportunities reach a wider and more diverse audience. Youth participation is at the core of the project. Each month, a volunteer young person is invited to co-design and host an episode, encouraging peer learning and youth-led content creation. In addition, the project follows environmentally responsible practices by avoiding unsustainable materials and dedicating specific content to sustainability, green energy, and the European Union’s green priorities.

Overall, Europe Frequency for Youth strengthens information provision, fosters a sense of belonging to the European community, and empowers young people to become active, informed, and connected European citizens.

How is this project relevant to the specific category?

The initiative “Europe Frequency for Youth” directly corresponds to the thematic category of Inclusive Youth Information by ensuring that European opportunities are accessible to all young people, especially those who face barriers in accessing traditional written or visual information. One of the main aims of the project is to reach blind and visually impaired young people through an audio-based podcast format. As most youth information is shared via websites, social media posts and visual materials, young people with visual impairments may experience difficulties in accessing reliable and comprehensive information. By providing clear, structured and easy-to-follow audio content, the project removes these barriers and creates an inclusive channel through which information can be accessed independently and with dignity.

The podcast presents European programmes such as Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps, volunteering, traineeships and youth exchanges in simple and understandable language. Episodes are designed to explain, step by step, how to find opportunities, apply and receive support, ensuring that young people with different educational backgrounds and abilities can benefit equally. In addition, the project adopts an inclusive communication approach by using plain language, avoiding technical jargon and encouraging questions from listeners. Feedback from young people, including those with disabilities, is used to continuously improve content and accessibility.

Through its accessible format and inclusive methodology, Europe Frequency for Youth ensures equal access to youth information and contributes to reducing information inequalities among young people.

Note: The project has been promoted during local information meetings, trainings and seminars organised by the Eurodesk Contact Point. It is planned as a 10-episode podcast series (from October 2025 until the end of 2026) and is currently in the finalisation phase; therefore, the episodes have not yet been published on public platforms. At this stage, the podcast is used only for local meetings and trainings. A Spotify channel has already been created as proof of the planned publication and future dissemination.

What was the impact of the project?

“Europe Frequency for Youth” has had a positive impact on young people and the local community by increasing awareness of European opportunities, strengthening youth participation, and improving access to inclusive youth information in Aydın. The project helped many young people discover Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps, volunteering, traineeships, and youth exchanges for the first time. Through clear and practical podcast episodes, young people gained a better understanding of application procedures, eligibility criteria, and support mechanisms. As a result, the number of young people contacting the Eurodesk Contact Point for guidance and project ideas increased, demonstrating a higher level of motivation and engagement. A particularly important impact is the improved access to information for blind and visually impaired young people. The audio format enabled them to independently access reliable youth information, reducing their reliance on written or visual materials and increasing their confidence in exploring European opportunities. The project also strengthened peer learning and community connections. Volunteer young people who co-designed and hosted episodes developed communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Listening to real experiences shared by peers encouraged others to believe that international mobility is achievable for everyone, regardless of background. At the community level, Europe Frequency for Youth contributed to creating a more informed and connected youth ecosystem. Local institutions, NGOs, and youth groups became more aware of Eurodesk services and started referring young people to the Contact Point. The project fostered a sense of belonging to the European community and encouraged active citizenship. Overall, the initiative empowered young people to make informed choices about their future, participate more actively in youth programmes, and see themselves as part of a wider European network.

Did the project have any green focus?

Yes, Europe Frequency for Youth has a clear green focus and applies eco-friendly measures in both its organisation and content. As a digital, audio-based podcast, the project significantly reduces the need for printed materials, travel, and physical resources, thereby lowering its environmental footprint. During the recording, editing, and publishing processes, the project team avoids the use of unsustainable products and prioritises reusable and energy-efficient equipment. Communication, planning, and promotion are carried out mainly through digital channels to minimise paper consumption. In addition to environmentally responsible practices, the project also integrates sustainability into its content. Dedicated podcast episodes address topics such as environmental awareness, green energy, sustainable lifestyles, and the European Union’s green priorities. By informing and inspiring young people to adopt more sustainable behaviours, the project contributes to building a more environmentally conscious youth community. Overall, the initiative combines sustainable working methods with environmental education, reflecting the European Union’s green focus.

How did you ensure Eurodesk's visibility in your project?

Eurodesk’s visibility was ensured by clearly branding the podcast as a Eurodesk initiative of the Aydın Governorship Foreign Relations Office. The Eurodesk logo and visual identity are used on all promotional materials, social media posts, and episode visuals. Each episode includes a verbal introduction presenting Eurodesk, its mission, and available services. Dedicated episodes introduce the Eurodesk Contact Point, its volunteer team, and local activities. In addition, listeners are regularly directed to Eurodesk channels and encouraged to contact Eurodesk for personalised support.
