What is it about?

The project was designed as a youth information meeting primarily targeting young people aged 15–30 working in the public sector. Its main objective was to increase awareness of European opportunities, particularly Erasmus+ and related mobility programmes, and to make these opportunities more accessible for young public employees. The project also aimed to address informational and institutional barriers that may limit young people’s participation in European programmes. Another key objective was to create an inclusive learning environment that brings together young people with and without disabilities.

The target audience consisted of young public sector employees aged 15–30, particularly those at the early stages of their careers. Young people with disabilities were actively included in the meeting, ensuring equal access to information and participation. This inclusive approach strengthened social interaction and promoted equal opportunities within the learning environment.

The core activity of the project was an interactive information session. Rather than relying solely on one-way presentations, the meeting encouraged active participation. Participants were given space to ask questions, share their opinions, and express their suggestions and needs regarding European opportunities. To reinforce the learning outcomes, a Kahoot quiz was organised at the end of the session, allowing participants to refresh their knowledge in an enjoyable and engaging way.

The project followed a youth-led and peer-learning approach. Young volunteers played an active role in delivering the session and shared their personal Erasmus and European mobility experiences, making the information more relatable, practical, and inspiring. By combining inclusivity, interaction, digital tools, and experience-based learning, the project successfully transformed a traditional information meeting into a dynamic and youth-friendly activity.

How is this project relevant to the specific category?

This initiative strongly aligns with the Inclusive Youth Information category because it intentionally created an accessible and participatory learning environment for all young people, including those with disabilities. The meeting was designed for young public sector employees aged 15–30 and ensured that the information session was not limited to a specific group, but open and welcoming to everyone. This inclusive approach helped reduce barriers related to accessibility, confidence or lack of information.

Inclusivity was reflected in the project’s structure and methods. Instead of a traditional lecture-style session, the meeting encouraged active participation from all attendees. Participants were invited to ask questions, share their perspectives, and express their needs and expectations. This allowed diverse voices to be heard and ensured that the information delivered was relevant to the participants’ real situations. By valuing every participant’s contribution, the project promoted equal participation and mutual learning.

The use of interactive tools, such as a Kahoot quiz, supported inclusive learning by accommodating different learning styles and making the content more understandable and engaging for everyone. The quiz also provided a non-threatening way for participants to test their knowledge and participate actively.

Additionally, the session was supported by digital tools, including QR codes that gave immediate access to Eurodesk resources, ensuring continued support and information beyond the meeting. Volunteers also shared their personal Erasmus experiences, providing relatable role models and encouraging young people from different backgrounds to see European opportunities as accessible.

Overall, the initiative ensured that youth information was delivered in a way that was accessible, participatory and inclusive, demonstrating a strong correspondence with the Inclusive Youth Information thematic category.

What was the impact of the project?

The project created a meaningful impact by increasing young people’s awareness of European opportunities and strengthening their sense of inclusion, confidence, and motivation. The information session targeted young public sector employees aged 15–30 and included young people with disabilities, creating a diverse and inclusive environment. As a result, participants who may not have previously considered Erasmus+ or other European programmes were introduced to these opportunities in a supportive and accessible setting.

The interactive structure of the meeting allowed participants to actively engage, ask questions, and share their ideas and concerns. This dialogue-based approach made the learning process more effective and empowering, as young people felt heard and respected. The Kahoot quiz at the end helped reinforce learning and created a positive atmosphere where participants could review information in a fun and memorable way.

The project also had a strong community impact by strengthening the visibility of Eurodesk and European opportunities within the public sector. Participants gained practical knowledge on how to access support and guidance through Eurodesk, which increased the likelihood that they will take part in future mobility projects and share this information within their workplaces and networks. By including volunteers who shared their personal Erasmus experiences, the project also provided role models and real-life examples that increased participants’ motivation and belief that European opportunities are achievable.

Overall, the initiative contributed to a more informed, confident, and connected youth community within the public sector. It promoted inclusive participation, peer learning, and long-term access to European information resources, helping to build a culture of international mobility and lifelong learning.

Did the project have any green focus?

The project adopted an eco-friendly approach by minimising environmental impact during planning and implementation. The meeting was held in a public space, reducing the need for additional venue energy consumption. Participants were encouraged to use public transportation, which is more sustainable and reduces carbon emissions compared to private vehicles.

To decrease paper waste, the session used digital tools, including QR codes, for sharing information and contact details, instead of printing large amounts of handouts. The interactive quiz was conducted digitally through Kahoot, eliminating the need for printed materials. Materials used for the event, such as boards and stands, were reusable and intended for future use in similar activities. Additionally, the project avoided single-use items and preferred minimal, low-waste supplies during the event. Overall, the initiative demonstrated that youth information activities can be delivered in a sustainable way by prioritising digital communication, reusable materials, and public transportation.

How did you ensure Eurodesk's visibility in your project?

Eurodesk’s visibility was ensured by clearly integrating it into all stages of the information meeting. During the session, Eurodesk was introduced as a key youth information network supporting access to European opportunities, and its role as a reliable contact point was clearly explained. Visual materials displaying Eurodesk contact details were shared with participants, and QR codes were used to enable direct access to online channels. In addition, volunteers referred to Eurodesk while sharing their personal Erasmus experiences, helping participants understand how they can receive guidance and support from Eurodesk before, during, and after European mobility activities.
