General Overview

Time to Youth 2024 was an engaging and vibrant event organised by KAINOTOMIA Lifelong Learning Center on 12 October 2024 in Larissa, Greece. The main objectives of the event were to equip participants with essential career skills through interactive workshops, to inform them about European opportunities for jobs, education, and volunteering, and to strengthen the local youth network by promoting peer-to-peer learning and networking.

Young people aged 18-35 were the main target audience of the event, particularly students, job seekers, people with few opportunities for knowledge and participation, and those who wanted to enrich their knowledge and expand their network. The event included interactive workshops on CV writing, interview techniques, AI tools, female entrepreneurship, and European opportunities. After the workshops, a networking session and DJ party provided a space for participants to connect and exchange opinions and ideas. It adopted a youth-led approach, with young facilitators engaging attendees in discussions and collaborative learning.

Eurodesk was at the forefront of the event’s visibility, with dedicated sessions promoting Erasmus+ and Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, while banners, materials, and digital outreach ensured wide awareness. Through this initiative, young people discovered valuable resources, strengthened their networks, and took steps towards personal and professional growth, making it a powerful celebration of youth empowerment.

Thematic Category Correspondence

(50 points max)

How does this initiative (project, event, material) correspond to the thematic category

Time to Youth 2024 strongly aligned with the Inclusive Youth Information category by ensuring accessibility and engagement for a diverse group of young people, including those from underrepresented backgrounds. The event was open to all young people, with a particular focus on individuals facing barriers to opportunities, such as students, unemployed youth, and young women interested in entrepreneurship. It provided practical guidance for those with fewer resources or connections to professional networks.

Additionally, the session “Europe in Your Hands” targeted young people who had never participated in Erasmus+ or the European Solidarity Corps, introducing them to mobility opportunities they may not have previously considered. Time to Youth 2024 successfully broadened access to information and encouraged participation from marginalised or less-informed youth, empowering them to explore new opportunities for their future.

Impact

(30 points max)

How did your project impact young people / your community?

The Time to Youth 2024 event had a significant impact on both young participants and the broader community by fostering youth empowerment and skills development. Many attendees left the event with a better understanding of European mobility opportunities, such as Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps, which they had never explored before. The workshops on CV writing, interview skills, and AI/digital tools provided participants with tangible career advantages, making them more confident in their job search and professional aspirations. On a community level, Time to Youth 2024 strengthened local networks by connecting young people fostering future collaborations. The event also played a role in reducing barriers for marginalized youth, as it was free, accessible, and welcoming to those with fewer opportunities. By increasing awareness of European programs and career-building resources, it empowered young people to take action toward their personal and professional growth, contributing to a more informed, engaged, and proactive youth community.
