About organisation:

Eurocentrum Plzeň is a part of statewide organisation network, which comes under the Office of the Government. Eurocentrum Plzeň works as infopoint for citizens, where they come with questions about European Union and its actual state. Our sphere of activity is Pilsen region on southwest of Czechia. Our most favorite activity is work with young people - lectures, workshops, nonformal events as celebrations of important European Day and so on.

Objectives:

The European Pub Quiz was our main event in the Time to Move campaign. Pub Quiz is a popular form of entertainment in recent years even among young people. For contestants were prepared five thematic circuit – newsreel and mobilities, music, european culture, identification of european city and european cuisine.Whole event was rather informal, and due to this, the age differences between high school students and older participants were blurred. 37 contestants were divided into 9 teams – 5 teams of high school students and 4 combinated students and working people.In the following days we received positive reactions so we want to organise this form of fun regularly in Plzeň and in other towns.

How the project was inclusive:

Logo of the European Year of Youth was placed on all our promo materials. At the start of the event we have to thank the Czech department of Eurodesk for providing us the opportunity to organise other beautiful events for young people and for support. All prize packages were gathered from promo materials of EYY and Eurodesk. At the venue was placed „Eurodesk infopoint“.

Green aspect:

Promotion ran mostly on our Facebook website and via our contacts on local schools and universities. Paper leaflets were only as an addition (ca. 80 pcs at university departments).

How the project has given a European dimension to your event and ensured the visibility and promotion of Eurodesk?

Impact:

Community is more informed about the EU and its programmes focused on students mobility and education. This type of fun is popular too, so we want to hold another round in April Klatovy and in May in Plzeň.
