General Overview

iXplore was a three-day festival of youth opportunities and travel experiences. Eight guests gave fifteen lectures across five locations for 263 attendees. They shared their personal experiences from several E+ projects, ESC, and travels around Europe and the world.

It was a peer-to-peer inspiration festival that took place in schools and the historical premises of a public library.

Helena told us about her semester in Finland, Iveta shared her DiscoverEU, Youth Exchange, and training course experiences. František told us about his Camino trip, Maty introduced his DiscoverEU travels from Bordeaux to Stockholm. Tadeáš spoke about his bike trip through Africa, Leon arrived with his lecture about his home in Hungary, and Honza with Barbara shared their experiences of living in a van in South America for one and a half years.

How does this initiative (project, event, material) correspond to the thematic category

Youth Participation and Democracy. Young people shared their experiences with other young people to encourage them to do the same and more. The credo was, “Even you could be the next one to talk about it!” The guests helped me to organise the whole event and discussed with students and other attendees how they got there and how they can follow in their footsteps too.

Impact

How did your project impact young people / your community?

It was a very interesting topic for the students attending. They were curious about our guests and asked them about the options and possibilities to follow. They wanted to know more about the Erasmus or ESC programmes, how to apply to DiscoverEU, how to participate, and more.

Did your project have any green focus and/or did you implement any eco-friendly measures when organising it?

Perhaps they also thought about saving energy during their travels around Europe and the world. Or how much waste they saw on their travels and how they acted in response to it.
