PARTYzipation - youth strategy 2027+

Start date:

October 3, 2022

End date:

October 5, 2023

Source of funding:

The main source of funding was own resources.

Objectives:

The heart of the strategy process was the dialog with young people as well as with people and institutions who work with young people on a daily basis. Both online and in person, young people were able to share their needs on the topics of work & education, internationality & interculturality, individuality & society and climate & sustainability. 30,000 inputs from more than 6,700 young people and 130 experts have now been incorporated into the results of the Upper Austrian Youth Strategy. The resulting strategy is a powerful outcome that captures the collective voice of Upper Austria's young people and focuses on their visions for the future.Strategic goals and fields of action were derived from the extensive source material, which will serve as a guideline for extracurricular youth work in Upper Austria in the coming years.

Why does it correspond to the thematic category:

Several different participation formats enabled a broad spectrum of participation opportunities and took into account the diverse needs of the participants. Insights were gathered through online surveys, interviews and discussion rounds with young people from all over the province. The results of the participation have a lasting influence on the extracurricular youth work offers in Upper Austria.

The impact the initiative had on young people and the local community:

Young people in Upper Austria were invited to share their opinions and needs on current issues and challenges in their everyday lives. Young people from Upper Austria were able to discuss issues that concern them with a politician in a dialogue with the Upper Austrian Provincial Youth Councillor Dr. Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer. The youth strategy gave young people between the ages of 14 and 30 a voice and enabled them to participate in the planning of future extracurricular youth work.

How it ensured the visibility and promotion of Eurodesk:

Topic-specific materials such as publications and brochures were taken to the workshops as part of the participation process and actively used as a valuable basis for discussions. Target group-specific information materials were available for free at all face-to-face events.

How it respected the green principles:

Information was mainly passed on digitally in order to save paper. Printed material was only printed in the required quantity and with caution. The venues for the workshops were chosen so that they were easily accessible by public transport. We also offered and organized joint travel to selected events. Both the youth strategy brochure and the final strategy paper will be available in print and online.
